This article explores the dual career (DC) experiences of transnational athletes navigating both academic and athletic development across borders. Based on narrative interviews with six athletes, the study identifies three DC pathways: sport exile, sport mercenary, and nomadic cosmopolitan. It examines how migration motives, educational systems, and cultural contexts shape athletes’ career transitions. The paper highlights the need for structured support for transnational DCs and calls for culturally sensitive career guidance services in both Europe and the U.S.
